The project investigates esoteric ritual practices in ancient Athens as counter-hegemonic systems of knowledge. Focusing on curse-writing, magical technologies, and the witch as a transgressive feminist figure, my research and material exploration examines how ritual operates as a form of embodied resistance and care. Engaging archaeological records and historic sites where esoteric practices unfolded, I connect these ancient orientations to contemporary Athens. This inquiry is situated within feminist and queer epistemologies to interrogate power, relationality, and non-binary subjectivity across temporal and cultural registers. This residency is funded by the Ian Potter Cultural Fund.
