Rigged, is an ongoing research project that explores plasticity – the capacity for endless pliability. Rigged investigates how material responds when stretched, molded, or reshaped beyond its inherent properties. The project considers how plasticity is both a material property and also a contemporary expectation of people, where endless flexibility and adjustment are assumed. Using humor, exaggeration and improvisation, Ptáček considers the tensions and strains of plasticity, tracing the parallels between malleable matter and the pressures for people to continually stretch, flex, and morph.
