What Was Mouthed…is a decolonial sound-movement performance and soft protest. Crystal Wall (Sound/performance artist) and Asher Ó Gormáin (choreographer/visual artist and performer) embrace The mouth; as an archive and site of living slang, The body; as a transmitter of socio-political pulse and The mask; as a technology of identity, self-definition, and deconstruction.
Through a queer feminist and decolonial lens, they look forwards and backwards at once, reflecting on histories of fascist violence while centering cultural practices that persisted under suppression.
