Yellow Brick begins the implementation of a new art project, under the auspice and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. It is a research-based, performative archive that will relate issues of material culture, social anthropology, historiography and artistic practices. Part of the project involves an art exhibition with the title “No running water” at Yellow Brick (7-30 December 2021).

The Municipality of Nea Ionia was established immediately after the catastrophe in Minor Asia in 1923, in a non-residential area without infrastructure, in order to house the population who were relocated in Greece due to the forced population exchange mandated by the Treaty of Lausanne. This new residential area on the outskirts of Athens had all the particular genealogical characteristics of its inhabitants: the homogeneous composition of the population created a community that preserved cultural codes and values, social bonds and practices.

For Sifostratoudaki, materiality stands as a broader term for framing geography, object, humans, language and gestures and sculpture as a moving organism.

creates sculptures that test the limits and properties of materials. In his works, familiar forms result in odd and uncunny ones, due to material manipulation. His references to architecture, literature, cinema and music incorporate narratives as structural elements of the work itself. He teaches art in primary schools.
